Yup, the Dagestan massacre its known as, me and some friends watched it about 15 years ago and it is truly horrific. To this day it sometimes creeps into my mind and gives me an extremely hollow feeling. A bunch of conscripts in there early 20s we’re protecting a small village in Dagestan against a Chechen rebel group. They were eventually captured with a promise of POW status. Turns out this was a lie and they just filmed them all get their throats cut. One guy escapes but is shot. The worst from what I remember is a guy who is trying to convince the group that he will show them where their ammunition is kept as long as his life is spared, truly awful video.

Dota being as top heavy as it is right now in terms of money isn't really good for the scene long term. There was a proposal for a portion of TI money to be spread out through the whole year and that was actually good if executed properly. But since we're talking about valve here, expect nothing. RIP my beloved game The extra hoops to jump through for DPC events, the extra prizemoney needed to be paid, and not being able to secure sponsorships from industries that pay better rates were all factors that made hosting valve events impossible to make money on. Turns out my wife had opened up a charge card at our bank, then got a couple of store cards around town. She had purchased some serious clothes and jewelry, but the real kicker was she had bought a horse. She had taken lessons as a child and decided this was going to be her new thing.
