A month later i had to leave for work for 5 months to another state. We only got to see each other once. About halfway through. Once I get back, she was in the process of looking for a new job and still doing school full time. And I also was working full time and attempting to start school full time as well. On top of some major house problems that caused us to not have heat for two months of the winter. During that time our dog got sick costing us another 6k in credit card debt.

Dota being as top heavy as it is right now in terms of money isn't really good for the scene long term. There was a proposal for a portion of TI money to be spread out through the whole year and that was actually good if executed properly. But since we're talking about valve here, expect nothing. RIP my beloved game The extra hoops to jump through for DPC events, the extra prizemoney needed to be paid, and not being able to secure sponsorships from industries that pay better rates were all factors that made hosting valve events impossible to make money on. Turns out my wife had opened up a charge card at our bank, then got a couple of store cards around town. She had purchased some serious clothes and jewelry, but the real kicker was she had bought a horse. She had taken lessons as a child and decided this was going to be her new thing.
